چکیده
252 Abstract. – OBJECTIVE: We studied the relationship between the occurrence of laterally spreading tumors (LSTs) and the activation of Wnt/β-catenin/c-myc pathway. PATIENTS AND METHODS: 20 cases of colorectal polypoid adenomas (PAs) tissue sample, 20 cases of LSTs tissue sample and 20 cases of colorectal cancer tissue sample were acquired, and positive expression of Wnt/β-catenin/c-myc proteins were detected by immunohistochemical staining. In addition, relative expression levels of mRNA and protein were measured using RT-PCR and Western blotting method. RESULTS: The positive expression levels of Wnt/β-catenin/c-myc protein in the colorectal cancer group were higher than that in LST group, and the value of the PAs group was the lowest; differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05). The relative expression levels of Wnt/β-catenin/c-myc mRNA and protein in colorectal cancer group were higher than that in LST group, and the value of PAs group was the lowest; differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The activation level of the Wnt/β-catenin/c-myc pathway has a close relation to the occurrence and deterioration of LSTs.

Objective(s): To investigate and test the hypotheses that TGF-β1 enhanced myocardial differentiation through Wnt/β-catenin pathway with rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs).Materials and Methods: Lentiviral vectors carrying the TGF-β1 gene were transduced into rat BMSCs firstly. Then several kinds of experimental methods were u...
متن کاملP-88: Assessing Expression Changes of Some Wnt Pathway Genes During Goat Early Embryonic Development
Background: The developmental competency of embryos is affected by several factors, including the developmental pathways and their elements. In mammalian species including goat, fertilized oocyte undergoes several divisions to form a structure called blastocyst. These events depend on the successful control of temporal and spatial expression of genes involved in genome activation. One of the cr...
متن کاملThe Canonical Wnt Signaling (Wnt/β-Catenin Pathway): A Potential Target for Cancer Prevention and Therapy
Precise regulation of signal transduction pathways is crucial for normal animal development and for maintaining cellular and tissue homeostasis in adults. The Wnt/Frizzled-mediated signaling includes canonical and non-canonical signal transduction pathways. Upregulation or downregulation of the canonical Wnt-signaling (or the Wnt/β-Catenin signal transduction) leads to a variety of human diseas...
متن کاملInteraction of viral oncogenic proteins with the Wnt signaling pathway
It is estimated that up to 20% of all types of human cancers worldwide are attributed to viruses. The genome of oncogenic viruses carries genes that have protein products that act as oncoproteins in cell proliferation and transformation. The modulation of cell cycle control mechanisms, cellular regulatory and signaling pathways by oncogenic viruses, plays an important role in viral carcinogenes...
متن کاملActivation of Wnt signaling reduces high-glucose mediated damages on skin fibroblast cells
Objective(s): High-glucose (HG) stress, a mimic of diabetes mellitus (DM) in culture cells, alters expression of a large number of genes including Wnt and NF-κB signaling-related genes; however, the role of Wnt signaling during HG-mediated fibroblast damage and the relationship between Wnt and NF-κB signaling have not been understood. In this study, we aimed to investigate the ffects of Wnt sig...
